Rules for the Artisan
of Starhaven Competition
1. A coversheet must
accompany each entry.
2. An item may be
entered in only one category at a time.
3. An entrant may
enter several items. If an entrant wishes to enter multiple items in a single
category, they must be substantially dissimilar items in methods and
techniques.
4. Basic
documentation must accompany each entry.
5. All entries
should fall between 500 C.E. and 1650 C.E
6. All entries require basic documentation that
supports material, methods, techniques used. In a case where the entrant finds
a particular item to be too costly or difficult to gather, the entrant will
document the period item and discuss the "reasonable substitute" used
in place of the period item.
Determining the
Artisan of Starhaven
The Artisan of Starhaven shall be determined by
Popular Acclaim. The Populace will be
asked to select the best entry or presentation/display. The entry that receives the most votes from
the populace by bead in the cup method during the afternoon of the faire shall
be proclaimed The Artisan of Starhaven.
In addition recognition will be to the entry
designated Judges Acclaim. The Judges
Acclaim recognizes the presentation/display that receives the most votes from the judges by conference during the afternoon of
the event. The panel of Judges shall consist of the previous
Artisans of Starhaven and any Peers of the
From the Artisan of Starhaven
It is highly recommended by the Current Artisan
of Starhaven, for the Winners of this competition to enter the next Kingdom
Art/Sci competition. Confer with the Judges and Laurels present, for
suggestions on the way to best present your piece, and how to clarify your
documentation if necessary to win at Kingdom Level. At Kingdom Level clear, and precise documentation is mandatory.
