Champion of Starhaven
Tournament Rules
(Heavy Weapons)
Eligibility: To enter the Champion of Starhaven Tournament the fighter must be:
- An authorized fighter with a valid authorization card or complete copy of authorization paperwork at the time of registration for the tournament. (out of kingdom authorization cards are acceptable if they are valid and the fighter has recently moved into the shire from outside of Trimaris)
- A resident in the Shire of Starhaven
- Must have a consort present at the tournament
- Must NOT be a Knight or Master at Arms
- Must not be the current Champion of Starhaven
Format: The Champion of Starhaven Tournament will be a Pas d´Arms, started with a processional, then followed by 3 rounds of combat. Highest accumulated points (combined points for fighting and additional points described below) will be declared the Champion of Starhaven.
The rounds are as follows:
- Sword and Shield
- Consorts Choice: The fighters consort will select the weapon style for their champion (the fighter must be authorized in that weapon style)
- Sword and Banner: A traditional weapon style for this tournament
Scoring:
- Fighting points:
- Each fighter who reaches the finals of each fighting round will be awarded 1 point. The winner of the finals of each round will be awarded an additional point (Total of 9 fighting points will be awarded, maximum a single fighter can earn is 6 points)
- Additional points:
- 1 point will be awarded to each fighter with a device (approx. 8"x12" rigid material) for use on the lyste tree
- 1 point will be awarded to each fighter represented in the Art/Sci competition. This entry may be by the fighter or his consort. Multiple entries will NOT receive additional points.
- 1 point will be awarded to each fighter with a personal herald for the processional and introductions
- 1 point will be awarded to the fighter with the best overall heraldic presentation. The populace will be provided tokens with which to vote on the award.
- 1 point will be awarded to the fighter who best demonstrates the chivalric ideal on the field. The members of the Order of Chivalry present will be asked to select the recipient of this point. If there are no members of the Order of Chivalry present the populace will be asked to select the recipient of this point.
Selection of the Champion of Starhaven
- The fighter with the most accumulated points will be declared the Champion of Starhaven.
- In the event of a tie, the fighter who WON the most rounds of combat will be declared Champion. If this is unable to break the tie, the fighter with the most fighting points will be declared Champion. If there is still a tie, the fighters will face each other in a double elimination round (best 2 out of 3), with sword and shield, to determine the winner.
